About JEE Main
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018.
BJEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
JEE Main 2019
It is a national level entrance test. It is organized to offer admission in BE/B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Plan courses. NITs, CFTIs and various other colleges and institutions of India consider the JEE Main scores for providing admission. For admission in IITs & ISM Dhanbad, students have to qualify both examinations, i.e. JEE Main and JEE Advanced. It will be conducted twice in a year by NTA. New Changes in the JEE Main entrance exam
MHRD, Government of India had notified several changes in the JEE Main entrance exam. Following are the new changes introduced last year:
- No need to verify the 12th class roll number.
- Students are able to book their slot, For online mode exam.
- Top 2,24,000 qualified students of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
- CBSE board has identified 258 exam centres which include 248 exam centres in India and 10 centres in abroad countries.
- Diabetic students can take sugar tables, fruits and transparent bottle of water at the exam centre.
- NTA will set up 3,000 practice centres for JEE Main examination from August 2018. It will function on saturdays and sundays & candidates will get around an hour to practice
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria & Registration
Candidates must ensure their eligibility before applying for the JEE Main exam. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria from below:
Age Limit:
- The date of birth should fall on or after 1st October 1994.
- For SC/ST & PwD candidates, the DOB should fall on or after 1st October 1989.
Attempt Limit:
- Candidates can attempt for maximum three times for the JEE Mains exam.
- Attempt limit is same for all the categories.
- For JEE Advanced, candidates can appear for maximum two consecutive years.
Qualification Criteria:
- Qualifying Exam: 10+2 or equivalent exam passed in 2017 and 2018 are eligible to apply.
- Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the 12th exams in 2019 can apply.
- Diploma Holders: Diploma candidates can also apply but only for admission in IITs. Such candidates also have to appear for JEE Advanced exam.
- Minimum Marks: There is no minimum mark required to apply for JEE Main.
- For admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs: Candidates have to secure 75% (65% for SC/ST) in 12th exams or be in top 20 percentile of the respective board.
- Number of Subjects: Candidates must have five subjects in the 10+2 exam. Candidates should have physics, mathematics, language, any one from the Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject and any other subject
- Year of Appearance: Candidates who have passed 12th exams in 2016 are not eligible to apply. Students who have appeared in 12th exams in 2016, did not pass in 2016 but passed in 2017 are not eligible to apply.
JEE Main 2019 Registration Process
JEE Main 2019 application form will be released from 1st September 2018 (Jan exam). Following are the details of JEE Main registration 2019:
- Aadhaar card requirement will be mandatory to fill the application.
- Candidates are required to apply online for JEE Mains 2019 exam.
- JEE Main application form 2019 will be released from 1st September 2018 (Jan exam).
- Candidates have to upload the scanned images of passport size photograph and signature of candidate & mother’s/father’s/guardian.
- Photograph dimension should be 3.5 x 4.5 cm and dimension of signature should be 3.5 x 1.5 cm.
- The images should be in JPG or JPEG format.
- Multiple applications from a single candidate will be rejected
- There is no provision to send the hard copy of the application.
JEE Main Registration Fee:
- The application fee will be changed as per the categories and mode of examinations.
- Fee payment will be done through credit/debit card.
- Candidates can also pay the fee through e-challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI bank
- Fee will not be accepted through DD, money order, IPO, etc.
- The application fee will be non refundable.

JEE Main Application Correction 2019:
Candidates will be able to correct or modify the detailed in the application form during the correction period. Here we are providing JEE Main 2019 application form correction details:
- The correction facility will be provided in the month of September/October 2018.
- Corrections will be done only through online mode.
- Corrections will be allowed in all entries except change of exam mode from CBT to PBT.
- Any additional fee can be paid through credit/debit card, e-wallet or e-challan.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2019
Candidates can check here some important steps for JEE Main 2019 Registration:
- Visit the official website of JEE Main 2019 (jeemain.nic.in).
- Go through the link "Apply for JEE Main 2019".
- Read the Adhaar Card detrails instructions carefully
- Read the instructions carefully and click on the "Proceed to Apply Online".
- Authentication form will appear on the screen, fill all the necessary details and submit it.
- Now, the JEE Main 2019 Application Form will appear on the screen.
- Fill the exam detail like applying for, mode of examination, exam centre and exam medium.
- Fill the required details like personal, exam related, academic, address, guardians, etc.
- Fill the fields for academic details like year of passing, school board etc
- Fill the mailing details including address, mail ID and contact No.
- Fill the qualification, occupation and annual income of guardians
- create the password, enter security pin and click on the “NEXT” button.
- Review the application form and verify your details before submitting.
- Select the "Upload Scanned Images" option.
- Click on the "Browse" button to select the scanned images.
- Now click on "Final Upload" button to upload the scanned images of a photograph and signature.
- Go through the "Pay Examination Fee" option.
- Click on the link of ‘Pay Exam Fee
- Go for Payment
- Pay the application fee through online or offline mode as per your choice.
- After the fee payment confirmation, login again with your Application Number and Password.
- Click on the link related to "Print Acknowledgment Page" and take printout of it
- Candidates are advised to preserve the application form for further use.
- Exam Mode: The examination will be organized in online (computer based) mode.
- Type of Questions (Paper 1): The question paper will comprise of objective type questions.
- Type of Questions (Paper 2): Mathematics and aptitude section will be of objective type questions and drawing test will be subjective.
- Duration: The total exam duration will be three hours
- Medium: The question paper will be asked in English and Hindi language for all exam cities and English, Hindi and Gujarati languages for exam cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
- Marking Scheme: Four marks will be provided for each correct answer.
- Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
- The cut off will be published through online mode.
- It will be released along with the results in the month of February 2019.
- JEE Main cut off will be the minimum marks that need to have to appear in the All India centralize counselling.
- The cut off will be published category wise.
